People Engagement

The Work Foundation defines Work Life Balance as:

"the desire of all individuals – not just those with families or caring responsibilities – to achieve and maintain a balance between their paid work and their life outside work, whatever their 'life' involves, from childcare, to leisure or self-development."

What does that mean to me?

There are vast numbers of employees currently working, living and suffering with the pressures of modern working life, in turn creating organisations that are unable to reach their full potential and are underperforming.

Recent Health & Safety Executive (HSE) statistics show that stress costs UK society around £3.7 billion a year, mainly in sick pay and treatment costs. 12.5 million days of stress related absenteeism are taken every year.

It need not be like this - but what can be done to prevent this epidemic of work-related stress, absenteeism and low motivation levels?

What can we offer?

Evolving Ambitions has partnered with CCS Coaching in order to offer a Work-Life Balance programme that aims to help employers and employees address issues that contribute to the development of a poor work life balance, and looks at ways in which changes could be made, resulting in the improvement of personal and professional satisfaction and effectiveness.

For Individuals:
“To create individuals that are aware of what they can do for themselves, and are aware of what they can reasonably expect from their employers in the development of a productive, sustainable and satisfying balance between professional and personal life.”

For Organisations:
“To help employers and employees develop a pattern of thinking that can prevent stress, rather than simply addressing existing cases of workforce stress. Work-Life Balance aims to highlight what employers can do for their staff, and what employees can do for themselves to create a healthier, happier workforce.”

The Programmes

1. One day workshop, aimed at all levels of employees within an organisation, with the objective of raising the individuals' awareness of what work life balance is and the impact it has on them and their organisation. This workshop will assist the individual to look at where they currently are, the changes they need to make and will help them to define their own ideal balance.

2. Half-day workshop, aimed at Senior Managers/Directors of organisations, with the objective of raising awareness and understanding of the importance of the business case for Work Life Balance, informing about the impact of stress on the individual and on the organisation, and importantly the legal implications of stress. In addition they would receive a taster of the one day workshops, looking at their own personal work life balance and their personal motivators.

3. 12 week one-to-one coaching programme, where there is a structure to each session. This can be delivered to individuals in your personal practice or in corporate organisations to executives.
